Juice Cleanse Questions
What’s this juice cleanse thing all about anyway?
Juice cleansing is a way of giving your digestive system a break, and can act as a reset button for your body. Processed foods and stress can take a toll on the body. A properly done juice fast can improve digestion, boost your immune system and increase energy. Typically juice cleanses are done for either 1, 3, or 5 days, depending what you are trying to achieve.
When it comes to nutrition, there is no magic pill. Day-to-day eating habits such as eating whole foods (choosing organic whenever possible), raw vegetables, nuts & seeds, healthy fats, proteins and fibre, are essential for maintaining overall health and well-being.
We believe that juicing shouldn’t be a replacement for eating whole foods, but as a healthy addition to a well balanced diet. Cold-pressed juice can help to keep you feeling balanced and energized, without the crash often associated with the late day coffee or high carbohydrate based snack.
Can I drink anything else while doing a juice cleanse?
When on a juice cleanse, it is important to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water in-between each juice. Avoid drinking alcohol, coffee, and any other stimulants. The purpose of the juice cleanse is to give our system a break.
What if I get hungry?
If you feel hungry during your juice cleanse, there is nothing wrong with eating something. We recommend something simple like a plant based soup, green smoothie or raw fruit & vegetables, just keep it simple.
How should I prepare for the juice cleanse?
Leading up to and out of a cleanse, it is recommended to reduce your consumption of processed foods, refined flour, sugar, alcohol, caffeine, dairy, and meat out of your diet for at least the first few days, ideally 2-3 days pre and post cleanse. Prioritizing vegetables, fruits, legumes, whole grains, and nuts.
